Renewal of Vows

A Renewal of Vows Ceremony not only provides you with an opportunity to reaffirm your love and commitment, but it also provides your family with a wonderful opportunity to become involved and to express their appreciation of their relationship with you.

Renewal of Vows ceremonies can take place for many reasons, but most often one of the following:

  1. To celebrate a wedding anniversary that is significant to the couple, whether it is 5 years or 65 years.

  2. To share a celebration of marriage with guests who were not at the original ceremony. If a couple was married interstate or overseas it’s a wonderful opportunity to share another ceremony with friends and family back home.

  3. For married couples who may have separated, but now desire to reunite.

  4. Where couples feel the need for such a ceremony as their original wedding ceremony, for one reason or another, was not meaningful to them or was not conducted as they would have wished.

A Renewal of Vows Ceremony can be formatted similarly to a wedding ceremony or can have a unique structure. There are no limitations to the ceremony.  The ceremony can reflect the journey that you have been on since you met and committed to one another. It can also include your hopes for the future as a couple or as a family.  You may choose to reaffirm your original vows or you may write new ones to reflect your relationship as it is now.

My process of working with you to create your Renewal ceremony will be very similar to that which I use for a wedding ceremony.  Crafting your Renewal of Vows certainly requires the same level of effort and attention to detail.  I will supply you with a file of resources to help inspire you and help you decide on the tone of your ceremony.  Through talking to you and actively listening, we will be able to devise a ceremony that suits your personalities and tells the story of your continued love and commitment.
